Hidup Begitu Berharga

Hidup Begitu Berharga Cerita Motivasi dan Inspirasi Nomor 1

“It’s your choice, make it great day! – Itu pilihan Anda, jadikan hari Anda menyenangkan.” Greg Gorman.

The new BMW R nineT Scrambler.

The new BMW R nineT Scrambler. (11/2015)
The new BMW R nineT Scrambler – a down-to-earth character beyond established conventions.

They were ridden by action heroes on the screen and scores of hobby racers entered mountain and beach races on them: the Scramblers. With deep treaded tyres, a raised exhaust, somewhat extended spring travel and a relaxed seating position, Scramblers offered their riders in the 1950s to 1970s
not just motorcycling fun on winding country roads but also great off-road capability and therefore an extended range of use. Like the motorcycles themselves, the people who rode Scramblers were not bound by established conventions. And they could be seen virtually everywhere: on winding country roads, stony mountain passes and - where it was allowed - even on sandy beaches.

The history of BMW Motorrad is also rooted in the Scrambler concept. In 1951, the BMW R 68 was presented at the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Fair IFMA in Frankfurt with a typical raised 2-in-1 exhaust, just like the one used for racing by BMW Motorrad legend Georg "Schorsch" Meier.
While the standard version of the R 68 had a conventional exhaust installed in a lower position, the raised exhaust version was already available back then as a BMW Motorrad accessory. To this day, some owners of this highly valuable post-war BMW Motorrad classic still like to retrofit the special Scrambler-style exhaust.

Now BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW R nineT Scrambler, a motorcycle which revives the Scrambler era in a very special way. It has everything that defines this motorcycle type, filled with a very distinct spirit and created for motorcycle fans who love things that are purist, reduced to
the essentials and non-conformist - combined with the technology and quality of a BMW. Together with the R nineT Roadster, the BMW Scrambler establishes the new BMW Motorrad Heritage world of experience.

Potent, air-cooled boxer for vigorous power.
The new BMW Motorrad Scrambler features a classic air-cooled, punchy flat twin boxer engine, which has stood for hallmark design, powerful torque and a unique sound for more than nine decades. The R nineT Scrambler is fitted with the air/oil-cooled boxer with a capacity of 1 170 cc. It delivers an output of 81 kW (110 hp) at 7 750 rpm, develops a maximum torque of 116 Nm at 6 000 rpm and, with the new engine mapping and a fuel system including carbon canister, meets the requirements of the EU4 pollutant class.

Dynamic Scrambler with versatile character.
With the new Scrambler as with the R nineT, BMW Motorrad has responded to the desire of many motorcycle fans to be able to modify their bike creatively according to their own personal taste. The spectrum of potential alterations ranges from original BMW Motorrad accessories through to attachments or accessory parts produced by customisers to create a unique motorcycle.

Raised exhaust in Scrambler style for a sonorous sound.
The raised exhaust with two vertically arranged rear silencers meets the requirements of a classic Scrambler. It is fitted very close to the body of the bike, thereby reinforcing its generally slim appearance. Producing a sonorous boxer sound, it also adheres to the new noise emission regulation ECE R41-04. A large-size catalytic converter ensures even more effective exhaust gas cleaning.

Traditional suspension technology with 19-inch front wheel and a wide range of potential variations.
Similar to the R nineT Roadster, the frame concept is a key aspect in terms of the Scrambler's extensive customisation capacity. The specially developed steel tubular space frame integrates the boxer engine as a load-bearing element and consists of a front section with integrated steering head and a
rear section with swinging arm mount.

The passenger frame can be dismounted, thereby allowing the R nineT Scrambler to be used either by two people or - for a particularly stylish appearance - by the rider on their own. In line with the bike’s active riding character, the suspension geometry of the R nineT Scrambler is mainly
geared towards sound handling and a neutral cornering response - in other words lots of riding fun on winding country roads.

In good Scrambler style, front wheel suspension is in the form of a telescopic fork with rubber gaiters and a spring travel of 125 millimetres. Rear wheel suspension is taken care of by a Paralever single-sided swinging arm as used in the other boxer models. Suspension and damping are carried out via a central spring strut. The spring travel is 140 millimetres.

The new BMW Scrambler is fitted with light alloy cast wheels. In typical Scrambler style it has a large 19-inch front wheel with tyre sizes of 120/70-19 at the front and 170/60-17 at the rear.

In view of the impressive riding dynamics of the R nineT Scrambler, the brake system - which comes with ABS as standard - is fitted with 4-piston calipers, steel-wrapped brake lines and 320-millimetre brake discs at the front. At the rear, effective deceleration is ensured by a single-disc brake with a diameter of 265 millimetres and a 2-piston floating caliper.

Special ergonomics for a relaxed Scrambler feel.
A relaxed upright seating position is one of the key features of a Scrambler.

For this reason, the ergonomic triangle of handlebar-seat-footrests has been redefined. With handlebars that are higher as compared to the R nineT, slightly reduced seat upholstery and rider footrests that are positioned somewhat lower and further to the rear, the new model gives the rider a
relaxed ride feel.

Purist design, attention to detail and a classic colour concept.
Whether with the standard light alloy cast wheels or the optional cross-spoke wheels – the new R nineT Scrambler always demonstrates authentic style.

One important design objective was to deliberately ensure the body features were reduced so as to achieve a purist appearance. From all angles, the BMW Motorrad Scrambler is defined by a blend of classic and modern elements of motorcycle design style.

The circular headlamp gives it an expression of freedom, independence and serenity, while the speedometer with analog display features an in elaborate style that very much reflects the classic principles applied to the development of the BMW Scrambler. Eye-catching elements are the painted 17-litre sheet steel fuel tank and the trim cover made of fine aluminium sheet with embossed R nineT inscription which runs across the air intake duct on the right-hand side.

The new member of the BMW Motorrad Heritage world of experience also conveys its high-quality workmanship in numerous details. These include the refined aluminium forged parts with glass-bead blasted and then clear anodised surface or the clamp for the double-butted tubular handlebars, also made of aluminium and bearing an engraved BMW Motorrad inscription. The tapered and stitched two-person seat in patinised leather look in the colour Saddle Brown likewise demonstrates refined workmanship and the use of high-end materials.

The new BMW R nineT Scrambler is available in the paint finish Monolith metallic matt. The bike's classic, purist character is enhanced by black-coated components such as the frame, swinging arm, wheels, fork slider tubes and engine housing.

Highlights of the new BMW R nineT Scrambler:
  • Purist design.
  • Classic colour concept.

Pernyataan Lembaga Perjuangan Korban 1965, Negeri Belanda

Press Release
Siaran Pers

Pernyataan Lembaga Perjuangan Korban 1965, Negeri Belanda
(Berkaitan Peringatan 50 Tahun Genosida Politik 1965 di Indonesia, Diemen Nederland), 10 Oktober 2015)

Kepada
PYM. Presiden Republik Indonesia
Bapak Joko Widodo
Jakarta

Motorcycles become part of the connected vehicle world: BMW Motorrad, Honda and Yamaha cooperate to further increase safety of powered two-wheelers.

Karl Viktor Schaller (BMW Motorrad), Tetsuo Suzuki (Honda Motor Co. , Ltd.), Takaaki Kimura (Yamaha Motor Co. , Ltd.)

Bordeaux/France: BMW Motorrad, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. are now collaborating to enhance Cooperative-Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) applications in powered two-wheelers (PTWs) and working together to establish a consortium named Connected Motorcycle Consortium. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by all ACEM manufacturing members in 2014, C-ITS features will be introduced from 2020 onwards (ACEM: European association of motorcycle manufacturers, www.acem.eu). In order to accelerate this process, the three manufacturers will begin their cooperation in the field of C-ITS now.

The new cooperation was announced on October 6th 2015 at the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux (France), the world’s largest event for intelligent transport systems and services. The three partners also encouraged other motorcycle manufacturers to join the consortium so as to further increase safety in powered two-wheelers.

“In order to speed up more motorcycle-specific safety developments, we intend to cooperate to promote a successful implementation of C-ITS in motorcycles and scooters,” says Mr Tetsuo Suzuki, Operating Officer at Honda Motor Co., Ltd.. Mr Takaaki Kimura, Chief General Manager of Technology Center and Executive Vice President and Representative Director of Yamaha Motor Co.Ltd. adds: “Our companies are already active members of the Car2Car Communication Consortium, in which we work with car and truck makers and other stakeholders on common specifications and standards. We came to realize that the specific requirements of motorcycles are beyond the scope of this consortium, however. The next logical step is to enter into a cooperation dedicated solely to the challenges relating to powered two-wheelers.”

“Our aim is to promote a timely and comprehensive use of cooperative ITS systems in powered-two wheelers offering the potential to improve safety. We therefore encourage other companies to join us,” explains Prof. Dr. Karl Viktor Schaller, Executive Vice President Development BMW Motorrad.

The European Motorcycle Manufacturer Association welcomes the initiative
Antonio Perlot, ACEM Secretary General, stated: “This initiative is fully in line with the ACEM road safety strategy and shows the willingness of the motorcycle industry to increase safety for riders based on very concrete and practical developments.”

ITS technologies will contribute to motorcycle safety
If well considered and properly deployed, ITS technologies offer the potential to further increase safety, security and efficiency in all transport systems, in particular for motorcycles.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) require the integration of information and communications technology including transport infrastructure, vehicles and users. Basic applications currently exist in GPS navigation systems, where real-time traffic information is provided such as rerouting advice based on traffic jams ahead. For road transport in particular, interoperable networked wireless communication between vehicles can enable road users to make coordinated and informed decisions about their route as well as allowing safer manoeuvring in busy urban environments.

ITS technologies are expected to generate particular safety benefits in regard to powered two-wheelers (PTWs), not least by offering a level of electronic communication which can be shared between riders and drivers of other road vehicles.
The three companies have already gained experience of connected vehicle technology in several European field tests. Together with car makers and major suppliers, BMW Motorrad participated in simTD (www.simtd.de), a large scale field test carried out on connected vehicles in the greater Frankfurt area in Germany. Honda and Yamaha participated in DRIVE C2X (www.drive-c2x.eu), a Europe-wide ITS field test project.

In view of the challenges experienced in these real world tests, the three manufacturers are now joining forces to evaluate the principles of cooperative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS) to enhance motorcycle safety.

Motorcycle ITS systems will be different from those for cars
ITS systems designed for cars cannot simply be transferred to motorcycles. Due to the limited space available, electronic systems have to be smaller and be resilient to water, dust and vibration.
Since motorcycles exhibit different driving dynamics, software development and algorithms need to consider special requirements.

BMW Motorrad appoints new importer in Indonesia.
Maxindo Moto is now the authorised importer and sole distributor for Indonesia.

Jakarta. BMW Motorrad East Asia today appoints PT Maxindo Moto Nusantara (Maxindo Moto) as its authorised importer and sole distributor of BMW motorcycles in Indonesia. Maxindo Moto is a subsidiary of the Nusantara Group, which owns a portfolio of automobile brands. It is also an authorized dealer for BMW and MINI cars in Indonesia.

“We are very pleased to have Maxindo Moto as our business partner. With their extensive expertise and established business network in the automotive industry, Maxindo Moto will certainly be able to deliver an authentic BMW Motorrad experience to our customers all over Indonesia. On this occasion, we would also like to thank the previous importer for their contributions over the past years, and for laying the foundation for BMW Motorrad in Indonesia,” said Mr. Richard Park, Aftersales & Dealer Development Manager of BMW Motorrad Asia.

“Maxindo Moto is confident that we can provide premium services to our existing and future BMW Motorrad customers. As the new authorized BMW Motorrad importer and sole distributor for Indonesia, we strive to take the brand to greater heights,” said Mr. Joe Surya, Chairman of Maxindo Moto.

“We have big plans for BMW Motorrad and will be sharing that with you in due time. The next big events on our calendar are the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 and the Indonesia International Motor Show 2015, where we will showcase the latest and most exciting range of BMW motorcycles, rider gear and lifestyle items ,” added Mr. Joe Frans, CEO of Maxindo Moto.

BMW Motorrad offers its full range in Indonesia, including the top-selling BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, the captivating BMW R nine T, as well as the recently launched BMW R 1200 R.

The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.
The new R 1200 GS Adventure continues in this same tradition, building on the dynamic performance characteristics and excellent off-road and touring capabilities of the R 1200 GS to provide the new, ultimate solution for globetrotters, travel enduro aficionados and touring riders with a passion for off-road action. The new R 1200 GS Adventure is powered by the same spirited air/liquid-cooled boxer engine featured on the R 1200 GS, with a displacement of 1,170 cc and an output of 125 hp at 7,750 rpm. The stand-out feature of the power unit is the new precision cooling system which uses water instead of oil as a cooling agent. Also new is the engine’s through-flow, which is now vertical for even more efficient power output, as well as the six-speed gearbox that is integrated into the engine housing along with the wet clutch.

BMW R nine T.
The BMW R nine T, which has been created to mark “90 years of BMW Motorrad”, radiates purism and power in undisguised form. It skillfully blends the boxer engine’s rugged character and the design traits of various motorcycle eras with cutting-edge technology and a modular concept that offers the rider maximum scope for personalization. Like the first ever BMW motorcycle from 1923 – the legendary BMW R 32 – the new BMW R nine T is driven by the classic flat twin boxer engine with its punchy response from standstill. This construction principle has been synonymous with unmistakable design, abundant torque delivery and inimitable acoustics for 90 years now. The R nine T employs the 1,170 cc air/oil-cooled boxer unit. It produces 110 hp at 7,750 rpm and musters up a maximum torque of 119 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

BMW R 1200 R.
The flat-twin boxer engine on the new R 1200 R produces 125 hp at 7,750 rpm and develops its peak torque of 125 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Compared to the engine on its predecessor, not only has torque been increased substantially throughout the rev range, but delivery is now more uniform too. The exhaust gases are routed through a 2-in-1 exhaust system with a dynamic-looking, steeply angled rear silencer. A modified airbox and newly shaped air intake snorkels, as well as a centrally positioned radiator, all lend themselves to the slender front silhouette to which all roadsters aspire.

RENDANG: Minang Legacy to the World by Reno Andam Suri

RENDANG: Minang Legacy to the World
by Reno Andam Suri

Reno Andam Suri began her rendang-production business, Rendang Uni Farah, in 2004. She dreamed of promoting rendang to a wider audience by introducing vacuum-packed rendang suitable for air travel. She did not stop there, however. In 2012 she started a blog, Rendang Traveler, to share stories about rendang, the proud dish from her homeland, West Sumatra. To write this book, she returned to West Sumatra, and discovered the rich philosophical and cultural values of rendang, affirming her view that it is indeed a national treasure worth sharing with the world.

Reno has become the media go-to source for rendang. At her Baralek Rendang (rendang festival) she introduced rendang to an appreciative public through cooking demonstrations, engaging stories, and interesting games. Reno has appeared in many discussions about West Sumatran cuisine, and has conducted various cooking workshops and training sessions. She is also involved in many educational communities such as Indonesia Mengajar and Kelas Inspirasi.

Today, she organizes educational trips or travel programs to West Sumatra, which highlights the region’s rich culture and culinary delights. She invites participants to become better acquainted with the daily lives of West Sumatrans. She dreams of promoting rendang to an even wider audience, not just as a delectable dish, but also for the wealth of amazing stories behind it, as part of an enduring culture.

Thoroughly researched but written casually, this limited edition "RENDANG: Minang Legacy to the World" boasts also the beautiful presentation of the dishes as well as the landscape of West Sumatra. It ultimately lays the groundwork about the origins of rendang and its philosophical approach, but it also explains that ultimately there are so many other varieties other than the one we usually have in Padang restaurants. The book content gained good recognition from Gourmand Prize Award in 2012 in Beijing.
