Why Are So Many People Glad to Become a Google Local Guides?

Hundreds of millions of people need relevant and accurate information every day about a place. At the same time Google Maps helped them. The question is: What have we done to help and contribute to Google Maps? I often convey these questions to friends in the communities and other public. Everyone needs data, photos, videos, reviews and the latest information about a place.

If in the past we gave all these things only to those who asked at that time. But with the role of the wider community providing this information through the Google Maps application. Surely it will answer thousands or even millions of people using it. Google Maps provides opportunities for broad community participation and they are given the honor name of Google Local Guides. Volunteers who join Google Local Guides around the world provide the latest information in the form of data, photos, videos, edit information and provide the latest reviews.

Appreciation from Google Maps is also amazing. They appreciate every contribution of the Google Local Guides with various interesting offers to motivate Google Local Guides around the world. In addition to thanking each of our contributions. Google Maps also provides discounts on various products from their partners. Every photo we sent to the location point that we visit and is on Google Maps. We are given 5 points, video 7 points answer questions yes or no given a value of 3 points. Delivering a new place is given 15 points/place. Make short reviews of 10 points plus 1 point for rating. While making a review is rather long or more than 200 characters are given 20 points. After we register in gmail and then have the Google Maps application we get 0 Points on level 1. We actively contributes, get 15 points and we start at level 2. Then Level 3 with points 75, Level 4 with points 250, Level 5 with points 500, Level 6 with 1,500 points, Level 7 with 5,000 points, Level 8 with 15,000 points, Level 9 with 50,000 points and  Level 10 with 100,000 points.

By the time I have reached Level 5 there is an interesting offer to register and be selected by Google Maps to depart to Google Campus in California United States. When I receive a notification from Google Maps to join register. I feel very happy even though I never thought since I joined Google Local Guides in 2016. In February 2019 I was only at Level 7 with around 6.000 points over 2 years. To reciprocate kindness and opportunity from Google Maps. I continued to race and until now I have managed to reach 27,000 points or an increase of around 350%, in just 2 months. I entered the highest Google Local Guide in the City of Depok version of Google Maps. Hopefully our friends and people of Indonesia can contribute to Google Maps and get many benefits.

Mengapa Banyak Orang Senang Menjadi Google Local Guide?

Ratusan juta orang membutuhkan informasi yang relevan dan akurat setiap hari tentang suatu tempat. Pada saat yang sama Google Maps membantunya. Pertanyaannya kita adalah; apa yang sudah kita perbuat untuk membantu dan berkontribusi kepada Google Maps? Pertanyaan tersebut sering saya sampaikan kepada teman-teman di komunitas dan masyarakat umum lainnya.  Semua orang membutuhkan data, foto, video, ulasan serta berbagai informasi terbaru tentang suatu tempat.

Jika dahulu kita memberikan semua hal tersebut hanya pada orang yang yang bertanya pada saat itu juga. Namun dengan adanya peranan masyarakat luas memberikan informasi tersebut melalui aplikasi Google Maps. Tentunya akan menjawab ribuan bahkan jutaan orang memanfaatkannya. Google Maps memberikan kesempatan partisipasi masyarakat luas dan mereka diberi nama kehormatan yakni Google Local Guides.  Para relawan yang bergabung di Google Local Guides diseluruh dunia  memberikan informasi terbaru berupa data, foto, video, mengedit informasi serta memberikan ulasan terbaru.

Apresiasi dari Google Maps juga luar biasa. Mereka menghargai setiap kontribusi Google Local Guide dengan berbagai macam tawaran menarik untuk memotivasi para Google Local Guide diseluruh  dunia. Selain ucapan terima kasih setiap kontribusi kita. Google Maps juga memberikan potongan harga berbagai produk dari mitra mereka. Setiap foto yang kita kirimkan ke titik lokasi yang kita kunjungi dan ada di Google Maps. Kita diberikan 5 poin, video 7 poin menjawab pertanyaan ya atau tidak diberi nilai 3 poin. Menyampaikan tempat baru diberi 15 poin/tempat. Membuat ulasan pendek 10 poin plus 1 poin untuk rating perperingkat. Sedangkan membuat ulasan agak panjang atau lebih dari 20O karakter diberi 20 poin. Setelah kita mendaftar di gmail dan selanjutnya memiliki aplikasi Google Maps kita mendapat 0 Poin pada level 1. Kita aktif berkontribusi, mendapatkan 15 poin dan kita mulai di level 2. Selanjutnya Level 3 dengan poin 75, Level 4 dengan poin 250, Level 5 dengan poin 500, Level 6 dengan 1.500 poin , Level 7 dengan poin 5.000, Level 8 dengan poin 15.000 , Level 9 dengan poin 50.000, Level 10 dengan poin 100.000.

Pada saat kita sudah mencapai Level 5 ada tawaran menarik untuk mendaftar dan diseleksi oleh Google Maps untuk diberangkatkan ke Google Campus di California Amerika Serikat. Ketika saya menerima pemberitahuan dari Google Maps untuk ikut mendaftar diri.  Saya merasa sangat senang sekali padahal saya tidak pernah berfikir sejak saya bergabung dengan Google Local Guides tahun 2016. Pada bulan Februari 2019 saya pun baru baru di Level 7 dengan poin sekitar 6. 000 selama 2 tahun lebih.  Untuk membalas kebaikan dan kesempatan dari Google Maps.  Saya pun terus berpacu dan hingga kini saya telah berhasil mencapai 27.000 poin atau kenaikan sekitar 350%, dalam jangka waktu 2 bulan saja. Saya masuk Google Local Guide yang  tertinggi di Kota Depok versi Google Maps.  Semoga teman-teman dan masyarakat Indonesia ikut berkontribusi di Google Maps dan memperoleh banyak manfaatnya.
